An abstract audio/video animation–a colorful and hallucinatory trip through an endless virtual world filled with modulating computer-generated forms. The forms' colors are influenced by their position in 3D space, resulting in gradients that change as the viewer's point of view slowly lifts upwards.
An ambient drone-based musical composition played through speakers supports the viewers' sensation of ascending. The composition explores the phenomenon of the "Shepard Tone", a sonic effect (and equivalent to the barber shop pole) where listeners perceive that the frequency of a sound is always increasing. This is done by playing a series of increasing frequencies in series–too many for the ear to track simultaneously–leaving them unable to discern when a frequency begins and ends.
