"A visualization of the possibilities of tempo and control. The work responds to the increasing speed of contemporary life as our society progresses technologically. I use the abstract, dancing forms to symbolize the increased choreography of our lives by social norms dominated by technology. The air balloon following a peaceful wind represents our relationship to nature and the freedom of allowing ourselves to acknowledge our organic nature. The visual elements compete for attention at different speeds and disparate forms of movement. I feel both styles of movement create a balance that reflects the pace of contemporary life. I want to create a tranquil artwork that asks the viewer to consider their own pace of life and how they can create a synthesis of tempos to bring more control over our day to day lives."
