Gero Gries, 2005
Die Kahle Sängerin is about theater and named for the play by Eugene Ionesco. Gries worked as a theater director and stage designer from 1982 to 1990. In 1986
he was involved in staging a play by Michael McClure: The Beard. The Jean Harlow music was an aria from Carmen and the Billy the Kid music was "La Paloma" in a version by the German actor Hans Albers. The actors wore white makeup on face and body. This short is Gries remake of the production through digital means.
