Space Dust is a curated program of 3D moving image artworks that reflect the current unsettling time which we are living in, relating also to the 2020 SUPERNOVA main theme “World on Fire”. The program features selected work by artists who were taught by Professor Snow Yunxue in both the Film Video and New Media Department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Department of Photography and Imaging at Tisch School of the Art New York University. Artists explore the theme of realities through the post-photographic lens of this infinitely capable medium by creating digital space alternatives, utilizing fluid simulation, bodily forms models, key-framed animation, and other 3D techniques. Drawing from theatrical, performative, cinematic, sculptural, and game practices, the works exhibited explore the strangeness and boundaries of reality.
